excellent Christmas Side Dishes

While many citizen have a traditional Christmas main course such as lamb or perhaps a tasty baked ham, it is those outstanding Christmas side dishes that verily make the meal. And I'm going to give you a formula that is a real stand out for every holiday season!

In that broccoli is a popular Christmas side dish I decided that I would characterize how to make my famous Broccoli Casserole. This one is a serious show stopper and one that never fails to surprise and satisfaction my guests. And it doesn't hurt that broccoli is a health boosting mega-vegetable. If you prepare this side dish for your next holiday meal, even the kids will stand in line for seconds.

So, first for the ingredient list:

You'll need

* 4 heads fresh broccoli, chopped

* 1 1/2 cups shredded American cheese

* 1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup

* 1 1/2 teaspoons salt

* 2 teaspoons ground black pepper

* 3 tablespoons butter

* 2 cups crushed, seasoned croutons

Now for the meat (if you will pardon the expression) of the matter, the actual preparation:

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

2. Bring a pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Cook broccoli in the boiling water for 1 minute. Drain, and set aside.

3. In a saucepan over medium heat, mix the cheese, cream of mushroom soup, salt, and pepper. Stir until cheese is melted. Add the broccoli, stirring to coat. Exchange the combination to a 9x13 inch baking dish.

4. In a detach saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Mix in the croutons, and sprinkle over the broccoli mixture.

5. Bake 30 minutes in the preheated oven, until the topping is browned and broccoli is tender.

As you can tell it's not a difficult meal to make. But these sort of outstanding Christmas side dishes will be obvious to be a crowd pleaser for many years to come.
